Let's get started!

Do you know of at least one of your direct lineal ancestors who lived during the Republic of Texas? Do you have "proof documents" for the first three generations? Or, have just heard stories that say your family has been in Texas since the 1830s or 1840s?  Either way, we can work together to see if you are eligible for membership in DRT.

To begin work on your membership application, you will need birth certificates and marriage and divorce certificates, if applicable, for yourself; your spouse, if applicable; your parents; and your grandparents. If any of them are deceased, you will need their death certificates but not the birth certificate if the date of birth is correct on the death certificate.

Use the contact form to let us know if you have any questions as you gather those documents. We can help you with resources for finding the necessary documents for ancestors in earlier generations.

Once your application is completed and we are ready to send it to the Registrar General for approval, there is a one-time fee of $120 to "Daughters of the Republic of Texas" and a $15 fee to our "DRT-SFA" chapter. Afterwards, there is an annual fee of $65 to the chapter.
